TUTELAGE
I am offering an opportunity to serious wax carvers that want to take their current capability to the highest level in wax - modelmaking. This one-on-one tutelage is not for beginners. This is an advanced class. You must have a working, fundamental knowledge of wax in order to take this course.
If you want to gain the knowledge and ability necessary to create a technically precise, complex wax model that is exemplary, and suitable for mass production, you need the necessary tools to do the job, and the education to know how to use them. This one-on-one class is structured to teach professional modelmaking techniques to the student, starting from the fundamental rules of measuring and calibrating, and progressing through all the steps necessary to achieve accuracy and perfection with any undertaking.
This advanced study is difficult and demanding, as well as exacting, and requires concentration and attention to small details from start to finish. For those that wish for perfection in their completed waxes, and want to go as high as they can go in wax, this concentrated tutelage is the best you will ever hope to get from a master wax modelmaker.
What defines “master”, you ask. A master is a skilled craftsman (in his area of expertise) that can fabricate a technical design, no matter the difficulty, the intricacy, or the complexity, and do it with expert precision and accuracy.
Please understand, not every master wax modelmaker has the ability to go from technical designs to organic designs (living things) and create a beautiful rendering. This area of wax has nothing to do with technical abilities, and everything to do with artistic. I am blessed with the ability to do both.
This tutelage is structured to custom fit the needs of the pupil to include the technical and the organic, if so desired. My ultimate goal, however, is to teach every student the fundamentals necessary to fabricate master models.
Not everyone that is accomplished in wax has the aptitude for teaching. To my credit, I love teaching and enjoy revealing the knowledge and secrets I have accumulated in over 30 years of doing wax. My workshops were always a huge success and produced amazing results for the students under my guidance.
